Keep in mind that even industrial sewing is a craft that is carried out in many steps, therefore there is always a tolerance for measurement deviations.

How to measure

Men

  • A: Waist
    Lay the pants flat. Measure the width of the waist.
  • B: Inside leg
    Lay the pants flat. Measure the inseam of the trousers, from the crotch seam to the end of the pant leg.

Women

  • A: Waist
    Lay the pants flat. Measure the width of the waist.
  • B: Seat
    Lay the pants flat. Measure the seat of the pants, 19 cm down from the waistband edge.
  • C: Inside leg
    Lay the pants flat. Measure the inseam of the pants, from the crotch seam to the end of the pant leg.

I own 4 pairs of these pants .they work really well .the built-in pouche are very convenient for most things. . The only negatives are i would like a left hand hammer loop and the knee fabrick would come upto cover the pockets. Other than that they are good painting pants

I'm a paint contractor, and I'm a hard-use client.
I ordered these pants online in December of 2025.
The construction of the pants is is excellent!
I bought the 40 x 32 painter paints, and the fit is good!
I like the pockets for carrying tools as well.
However, I'm not completely happy with the pants:
1. The kneepad system is poorly and inefficiently designed; I'd call it the Ultimate in Dumb Design!
It's a struggle to insert the kneepads, even while the pants are off.
The positioning of the kneepad pocket on the inside of the pants is a Bummer!
I've even watched YouTube videos of how to insert the kneepads, and it's still a pain!
I ordered another brand of pants, and the pads are super easy to insert on the OUTSIDE of the paints by virtue of a simple Velcro tab system that opens a flap from the top.
2. The kneepads sit too low, almost under the knee, even when I pull the pants way up, and tend to position themselves rotated too far inside the knee on the medial side. I
have to pull the pants up and rotate pad area of the legs outward every time I want to kneel down.
With tools in my hands, this is a complete pain in the ass!
On the other brand of pants the kneepads are positioned correctly; on top of the kneecap and centered on the knees as well. Super easy to access the pads as well for removal or insertion of the pads.
Summary: Great product, great origin story, but would NOT purchase again until the kneepad system is made EASIER to insert into the pants and is CENTERED CORRECTLY on the kneecap.
Note my finger pointed to the flap in the photo on the other brand of pants; this design is simple and effective to insert and remove gel kneepads.

I’ve gone through my fair share of painter’s pants over the years, and nothing compares to Blåkläder. These are hands down the most durable, well-thought-out work pants I’ve owned. The fabric is heavy enough to take daily abuse on site but still comfortable enough to wear all day.

The pockets are exactly where they need to be — deep, reinforced, and perfect for brushes, knives, pencils, and even a small scraper. The knee pad slots line up perfectly (a rare thing with other brands), and the reinforced knees and cuffs save these from tearing when kneeling or climbing ladders.

They wash up surprisingly well even after days of epoxy, caulking, or paint splatter. The fit is snug but flexible — a true trades fit, not baggy or sloppy.

If you actually work in the trades and want something that lasts more than a few months, these are worth every penny.

All cotton painters pants with a lot of storage pockets. A little disappointed with the cut, towards the bottom of the pants it feels wide and boxy. Cotton material feels stiff too. Upgraded design from traditional white painters pants, but unsure of comfort and durability.
