Measure your favorite garment

If you are unsure which size fits you, measure your favourite garment at home and compare it to the garment measurements in the table above. Choose the size that fits best. Below you will find descriptions of how we measure our garments.

We use the hell out of these pants. They work really well. If your tools are top notched, your pants should be too.

I'm a house painter and I've been wearing Blaklader trousers for about a decade now. I keep wearing them because they suck less than every other work pants that I've tried which meet my necessary criteria (built-in kneepads, side pocket which accomodates a 5-in-1 and knife, suitable for full-time work). First the bad: 1. The low rise waist means all the weight of the pants rests on the back of your pelvis which affects your posture and causes back pain over time, as well as guaranteeing plumber's crack (It's a jobsite, not a fashion show-- make a high-waisted version for the love of God!). 2. The placement of the knee pad pocket is too low and too far inside the leg-- when you're working on your knees, the pad often ends up below your kneecap. Here's the good: 1. Durability-- usually last me over a year (compared to the Dickies at Sherwin which last me 1-2 months). 2. The pockets-- side pocket actually holds a 5-in-1 along with a couple other tools and the bottom half is free so you can use the pocket while kneeling. Front pockets are big enough and accessible enough that you can actually still use them once your hands start sweating. Bellows style back pockets mean you can actually put work stuff in them. 3. The kneepads-- even though the placement is off, having the kneepads integrated into the pants is lifesaver; much more comfortable than strap-on kneepads. 4. Material-- good balance between lightness and toughness; breathable.

The rip stop fabric on these pants is very high quality. The look is professional. The flexibility, fit, functionality and pocket placement is very good. Stain resistance is high. Durability in close proximity to rebar is very good. These are great work pants. I have four of these now. Highly recommended.

A bit expensive for painting pants, but I do plan to purchase 2 more pairs.

I really like the look and feel of these. The problem is the right knee pocket/pad is turned towards the inside of the leg, so the edge of an inserted knee pad would be right on the front of the knee. Of it wasn’t dor that I’d give a 5 star across the board.

now THESE are pants meant for the job they are my first but i can tell that not only will they out last ANY dickies or other cotton pant,BUT the pockets are great, lined with the tough stuff same as the knees AND THE CUFFS, i often have to remove my shoes in finish build and i hate frayed cuff from walking on them and blowouts on the knees will be a thing of the past.
buying the shorts soon.

I bought another pair in tan for when i go prospecting they will be GREAT on the river and in the BUSH.

I like the pants. They are a little pricey, but fit well, comfortable and appear to be pretty resilient.

Baggy. Quality is good though. Lots of pockets for hand tools and storage. Fit reminds me of 90’s jeans. Down size for length and waist is true to size.

A tad bit overpriced maybe but however every painter I know go through 3 or 4 pairs of dickies before these pants and I have yet to actually wear through a pair of blakladders only reason I get a new pair is because after year or more there is too much paint splatter ect
