Sustainability is crucial for AB Blåkläder, both in the daily operations in Svenljunga, but also in the production that takes place in other parts of the world. It’s our responsibility as a company to create a solid and safe working environment for the employees and to reduce the environmental impact of the manufacturing of materials and components. But we also see the factories where our garments are produced as an important part of our long-term sustainability work .

 

 

BCI – BETTER COTTON INIATIVE

Blåkläder believes that cotton can be made more sustainable and even a preferred alternative, depending on how the fiber is produced. We therefore joined Better Cotton Initiative in 2017. This initiative provides the farmers with the tools to grow their crops more sustainably and in return receive fair compensations for their goods. It’s our firm belief that the methodology of BCI provides a more sustainable solution for one of the world´s most important textile fibers.
